Anaya Hattori had taken a seat in Mr. Kazutaka's office, awaiting for his arrival. In a nicely pressed suit and a casual confidence in her, Anaya looked ready than ever to meet with the new head honcho. She had to get to know him and of course...warn him about her...health. She wanted him --and only him-- to know and understand why she would be absent frequently throughout the school year and possibly for the rest of her career at C.A.H. So for now, she placed strands of her short black hair behind her ear and patiently waited to see Mr. Muraki Kazutaka.

Muraki walked through the door, but wasn't really surprised to see the lady sitting there. His trusted secretary had already warned him and given him her file, which he now held in his hand. "Ah, miss Hattori!" he smirkes as he pushes his glasses further back on his nose and sits down on his side of the desk. "As headmaster, it is a pleasure to welcome you to the staff board, I do hope you've found your way around, yes?" he asked, his voice not sounding as cool and mocking as it normally would. As Muraki sat there he seemed merely like a polite, handsome and smiling man. His hair gleamed like silver in the light of his office and the white suit he wore had no stains what so ever.

Anaya was shocked for a moment, Muraki being quite the handsome gentleman! He looked no older than early thirties! And that was at the most! Shy to say the least, Anaya blushed a little and smiled politely. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. Kazutaka. And an honor to be chosen to teach at your school, sir." She was nervous but remained cool, keeping the whole "grace under pressure" intact.
"And yes, sir...I...amazingly found my way around this grandeur school. It truly is a marvelous place." He seemed so nice and so..gentle....it relaxed her.

"The honour should be mine! I've only heard good things about you, so when you applied, there really was no choice, was there?" he said with a kind smile. It was easy to see that she was already playing with the bait. But it amused him. Finally some fresh blood he could play with!
"Indeed! I was graced by the old headmaster here with the position, and was truly lucky! I used to teach math here before, yet now I've only time for concerning for the wellbeing of my excellent students! And what bright minds they have!" he exclaimed, though when he finished he forced a faint blush to play on his pale cheeks. Much more effective. "Uhm... What I meant was, well-... You'll see for yourself once you being your classes!"

Anaya blushed as well, due to his compliment. She was now certain that Muraki Kazutaka was a great man; so dedicated to his work and students! "Oh I believe you, Mr. Kazutaka. The children here must be brilliant, Cross Anime High only enrolls the best. You must have been a great mathematics teacher, Mr. Kazutaka. And," she didn't want to sound like she was kissing up to him but Muraki truly did inspire her all of a sudden, "An even greater headmaster..."
Anaya settled down for a moment before looking at him with an expression of concern. "Mr. Kazutaka, I am very sorry to be bothering you, I am probably making a horrible first impression, appearing at your office right before I even begin to teach. But sir, I...I have something to tell you about. Though...you might already possibly know, yes?" Oh, she didn't know how to come and say that she was very sick and that she would be asking for leniancy for her oncoming absences.

"Oh, you are flattering me! Truly!" Muraki said and looked down, his cheeks turning slightly redder. Some people were just too easy to play with! Too naive! Not that it was a bad thing for him, it was simple. She was simple it seemed, yet he could already now read the signs. Of course, he didn't want to share it with her that he knew, though it gave him the advantage.
"Do not worry! You're first impression was nothing but good! But your words trouble me! I can see, being a doctor myself, that you are not too well, yes? But I can't say I'm good enough to figure out just what! But please," Muraki started and placed a gentle hand over Anaya's, "whatever it is, you can trust me! And I'll do whatever I can to help you!"

Anaya looked down at their hands and her cheeks turned rosy pink, his hand was so....
She looked up at him and took a deep breath. "Mr. Kazutaka...I have...aplastic anemia." And exhaled. "I usually have to go to the doctor's quite often and I've had this for over a year now. It's not terminal, they say...but..." Anaya looked away and smiled faintly, as though mocking her own self, "...it won't go away either."
She looked at him again and ever so calmly, as though the topic had deprived her of all emotions, spoke to Muraki. "I ask for nothing but tolerance, Sir, for I will be absent a lot of times..."

"Not to worry. Of course you must not work when you are sick!" Muraki exclaimed, nodding thoughtfully. "I'll see what I can do about an antidote. A medicine that works!" he added. Yes, let her live in the hope, let her believe I can save her. And then, when it's time, give her a medicine that works in two ways... But she'll be ever grateful and you'll have another card to play.

Anaya's eyes brimmed with tears..but not of hope. "Thank you ever so much, Mr. Kazutaka..." Her lip was trembling and so before she broke down in tears, she got up and exhaled. "It w-was a pleasure meeting you, Sir, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being so considerant...I shall l-leave you alone to handle your business." Anaya gave a bow, a smile, and walked out of the room. And the tears fell silently. She wasn't crying because Muraki would possibly make an antidote, she was crying because she had tried ALL antidotes and none worked...and she did not want to get her hopes high again only to be told that...she was still sick.

"Miss?" Muraki stood up and took a few steps after her, forcing on a worried look. "A-are you feeling alright now? Did I say something? Do you want me to get you something to drink?" his voice sounded so gentle, he disgusted himself. But, it was all for the fun later on, he reminded himself. Yes, he could have so much fun with this one later.
"I cannot let you go unless you assure me there is nothing wrong! Please! I-... I know it sounds rude coming from one you've just met, but... I want to help! Truly! And I can't stand seeing you sad!"

Anaya wiped her tears and shuddered a sigh, trying not to break down anymore. "Oh, Mr. Kazutaka, t-there's nothing t-t-to worry about. I'm just..." She tried to give him a smile but it shattered in brief seconds. She bowed her head and silently cried, her shoulders shaking. "I...I can't have hope." Anaya looked up at him, her eyes filled with tears that just fell and fell. "I've come to terms with my disease, sir...I can't live on a single thread of hope because w-when I do..it breaks...so many doctors, so many d-different antidotes..and none work..."

"Those doctor's just didn't try hard enough! I-... I'll still try my best! If you do not wish to hope, then don't! I'll never bring up the subject again unless I can do it, but... Please! Let me try? Can you even suspect me to sit still when one of my teachers are ill? I could never do such a thing!" Muraki exclaimed. He reached out a seemingly trembling hand and patted her back. "There, there.... It'll work out somehow. You'll see miss! You just do your job for now and forget about the pain and the disease!"

Anaya wiped her tears away once more and looked at him with eyes full of sorrow and now compassion. "Thank you..." Anaya whispered, suddenly feeling like she could trust him as a friend already. She wanted to hug him, wanted to thank him a million times for being so kind to her, but she couldn't. The moment Anaya went to speak to him, she felt the familar sensation of her mouth filling up with blood, her gums bleeding yet again. Anaya covered her mouth with a hand, bowed to him and scurried off to a restroom. See? All hope was just false hope...

It didn't take Muraki long to follow her and stop outisde the door. He gave it a light knock and tried his best to force away his wicked grin. "Miss? Are you alright? Miss?" he asked in a pretended to be concernded voice. Something which of course he managed perfectly. "Do you need help? Or maybe something to drink or... Anything?" Oh, how fun it was to play the worried one. Mostly cause he never really did worry much. It was simply fun to act that way.

Anaya spat out the blood in her mouth into the sink and gripped the sides of it, staring at herself in the mirror. No! Not now! She panicked and began to wash her mouth, trying to end the small blood of river that kept coming out of her mouth. Oh if only she had her medicine with her! "I'm alright, Mr. Kazutaka!" She called out, sounding as though she were crying.
